School Social Worker

Ms. Tatenda Mhunga

Barwick Life Lines.

Ms. Tatenda Mhunga is a licensed social worker and a certified project planner. She has vast and diverse experience working with children, families, and individuals as an agent of support and change. Her professional life includes a commitment to serving the needs of children and families as a School Social Worker and advocating for the protection and safeguarding of children.

Ms. Mhunga started her career with Probation work at the Department of Social Development. She advocated and represented the myriad of needs of children and adolescents bought forward on abuse, neglect, custody, and delinquency petitions. This is where she cultivated her passion for advocacy and child protection and safeguarding. She has also served at Childline and Island Hospice in different capacities.

She has also served as a Trustee on the board of Reaching out Charity Organisation and currently sits on the board of Do It For The Kidz. Her volunteer efforts extend from mentoring disadvantaged young girls, teaching life skills to children in orphanages to writing columns about children’s rights. She has additional expertise in areas of Positive Parenting, Family Systems, and Grief and Bereavement making her especially sensitive to the needs of children who find the school environment and home environment unsettling.

Barwick school is a member of the association of trust school (ATS). The Association of Trust School is a collective of trust owned, not for profit Independent schools in Zimbabwe. Like other ATS member school, Barwick school enjoys its full subscription towards the association’s quality measures, ethical conduct business acumen and best practices in education. All Heads of ATS member schools upon due procedure are admitted into the Conference of Heads of Independ school of Zimbabwe ( CHISZ). The Heard Master Of barwick School is a member of CHISZ.
